Welcome to fishorlandofl.com Faqs Page.

1. What should I bring?

We suggest that customers bring drinks, lunch, snacks, sunscreen, tightly woven shoes, hats, beach towels, sunglasses and zip lock bags if you want to take fillets back with you.

2. What and why should I tip the captain / mate?

Mates work for a daily wage and tips just like waiters and waitresses. Tips are discretionary, however, it is customary to tip the crew 15-20% for good service. The guys work hard hours before you get there and after you leave, so your day will be great.

3. Should I take something for motion sickness?

Most people like to take something "just in case". If you are afraid you'll get sea sick or are prone to motion sickness take something such as Dramamine (speak to your Doctor for medical advice concerning motion sickness) at least 30 minutes before we depart.

4. What's provided?

Everything you need for fishing. Rod, reels, bait, tackle, fishing license. Fish cleaning and great service with a great attitude

5. How many can fish in our group?

Coast Guard regulations allow up to six guest whether they fish or not. Pricing is per group not per person. It is the same price if 1 or 2 people charter the boat or if you have the full

6. Will it be just my group or do you add others to make a full boat?

You are paying for a private charter to enjoy the experience with just your family & friends. No we do not add others to make a full boat. If you are looking to share the cost with other you need to contact the captain and see if that is a option.

7. Bad weather?

The Captain will call you in advance if possible to cancel or reschedule your trip. If your trip is canceled, your deposit will be refunded or used to book another date.

8. Do you Guarantee fish?

No But, we guarantee to be persistent and work hard to make your trip enjoyable and give you the best chance to bring home a fine catch. Nobody wants to have a nice catch more than the captain (It’s just good for business)

9. Who cleans our fish?

The Captain and Mate will fillet your catch. If you would like, “Grills”(the restaurant we are located behind) will cook your catch and add all the trimmings to make for a great ending of your day. (Ask the waiter for a price)

10. Do we have to keep our fish?

You do have the option to keep everything of legal size you catch. However if you are not interested in taking fish back home with you please let the captain know ahead of time to ensure nothing is wasted.
